I don’t know, but I think he’s making lots of money and is symptomatic of what’s happened to the mainstream media. What’s happened to him? Homogenisation, correct? Has he sold out, then? Look at what’s happened to Jonathan Ross. People want to be challenged – they don’t want baby food. So much of mainstream media today is homogenised and lacks any kind of genuine emotion – so even though someone might hate Sergeant Kabukiman NYPD but love Tromeo And Juliet, they know that when they see a Troma movie, they will be moved in some way. Why is it that people love or hate Troma? The driving force behind satirical schlock horror specialist Troma, over the last 30 years he has seen the company gain a cult following through films such as The Toxic Avenger and Class Of Nuke ‘Em High, while providing inspiration for some of today’s mainstream, such as The Farrelly Brothers.
